While chatting with hosts Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, and Carson Daly on June 20, the singer-rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, revealed that his daughter’s unique name — Saga Blade Fox-Baker — was inspired by a deeply emotional journey.
- “The five years of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again… she is an epic story,” Kelly shared, referring to the couple’s past experiences with miscarriage. “And that’s what Saga means — an epic tale.”
He explained that the name “Saga” is not only symbolic of the child’s story, but also a tribute to his Nordic heritage. In Norse mythology, Sága is the goddess of storytelling.
