British prosecutors have formally charged Andrew Tate, the well-known far-right influencer, along with his brother Tristan Tate, with multiple serious offenses including rape and human trafficking, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed Wednesday.

The CPS authorized charges following an extensive investigation led by Bedfordshire Police. The Tate brothers, infamous within the online “manosphere,” are currently in Romania, where a European Arrest Warrant was issued against them in 2024.

Romanian courts have ordered their extradition to the United Kingdom, which will proceed once ongoing criminal matters in Romania are resolved.

According to the CPS, 38-year-old Andrew Tate faces 10 charges, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for profit. These allegations involve three women. His brother Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one woman, covering rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. Both brothers have denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that all sexual activity was consensual.

    A CPS spokesperson stated:
“We confirm the authorization of charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offenses including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution, and actual bodily harm against three women. These decisions followed the submission of evidence by Bedfordshire Police.”

    The spokesperson added:
“A European Arrest Warrant issued in England in 2024 led Romanian courts to approve the Tate brothers’ extradition to the UK, though domestic Romanian cases must be concluded first.”

The CPS reminded the public of the legal rights involved:
“Criminal proceedings are active, and the defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is vital that no reporting or commentary prejudices these proceedings.”

This latest development follows a controversial episode earlier this year when Andrew Tate and Tristan were allowed to travel to the United States for a promotional tour after being freed from house arrest in Romania.
